Redefining the role of the anesthesia provider as a trusted partner.

Total Volume of Cases in 2023

100+ Anesthesia Professionals

There are a total of 100+ Scope physicians, CRNAs, and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) providing care throughout the Atrium Health system. Of these Scope anesthesia caregivers, 50% are fellowship trained and 20% have additional advanced degrees such as an MBA, MHA, or other Masters programs.

14 Sites

Our team of professionals provide anesthesia care and pain management services to Atrium Health’s primary market, including its flagship facility, Carolinas Medical Center. Scope also provides anesthesia care at multiple regional locations, including Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, Mercy, Pineville, Stanly, Union, and Union West. We also provide services to Atrium Health Musculoskeletal Institute Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Rock Hill, South Carolina and Scotland Health Care System in Laurinburg, North Carolina.

We are redefining the role of the anesthesia provider as a trusted partner on the patient care team by promoting a collaborative perioperative process from admission through discharge.

Culture of Engagement

An inclusive group that comes to work knowing we give our best to our patients.

Scope It Out

Scope continues to impact and improve the local community and beyond through our community engagement.

Scope is looking forward to hosting the PATCH (Propelling Adolescents Towards Careers in Healthcare) program again this year on February 24th, 2024. At the event, local high school students will join Scope and our fellow perioperative colleagues to learn more about the various healthcare professions in the operating room, including the job of an anesthesiologist.

Learning & Development

Scope has invested heavily in education not only for our teammates, but for our perioperative partners.

Our educational structure consists of three pillars: Learning, Continuing Medical Education, and Professional Development.
